Djurgårdens IF of the Swedish Hockey League has signed defenseman Gustav Lindström to a five-year contract, allowing him to play in Sweden until the 2029-30 season. Previously a depth player for the Red Wings and later moved to the Canadiens, Lindström spent the 2024-25 season in the AHL with Laval after being waived by Montreal. With limited NHL opportunities and a history in the SHL, he returns to his home country to join Djurgårdens, which recently achieved promotion from HockeyAllsvenskan.
