Sheffield United to compete in WSL2 next season after being handed reprieve from relegation
Sheffield United will remain in Barclays WSL2 next season after being reprieved from relegation, having finished at the bottom of the table in the 2024/2025 campaign. Their reprieve comes following Blackburn Rovers’ resignation from the league, creating a vacancy that the Women’s Professional Leagues Limited (WPLL) decided to fill by allowing Sheffield United to stay in the division. Consequently, Sheffield United will begin the 2025/2026 season in Barclays WSL2, marking their eighth consecutive campaign in the second tier.
