Mateo Kovacic Undergoes Surgery
Manchester City midfielder Mateo Kovacic will miss the Club World Cup after undergoing surgery for an achilles tendon injury, which has plagued him for some time. The Croatian, who missed the FA Cup final loss to Crystal Palace, is expected to be sidelined for three months and will also miss World Cup qualifiers for Croatia. Kovacic’s last match was a 3-1 victory over Bournemouth, where he was sent off, and he contributed seven goals in 42 appearances for City this season.
