The Tampa Bay Rays have signed right-hander Kyle Gibson to a minor-league contract, as reported by Rays reporter Ryan Bass. Gibson, 37, was released by the Baltimore Orioles on May 20 after struggling this season, allowing 23 earned runs over 12 1/3 innings in four starts. He has a career ERA of 4.60 and has played for several teams, including the Minnesota Twins, Texas Rangers, Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, and Orioles, with a WHIP of 1.39 and a strikeout rate of 7.3 K/9 over 13 years.
