Real Madrid is ramping up their search for a long-term goalkeeper, with Espanyol’s standout, Joan Garcia, confirming his departure this summer. The 24-year-old has stated, “Whatever happens, I’m leaving,” following a crucial role in securing Espanyol’s La Liga status, attracting interest from multiple clubs, particularly Real Madrid and Barcelona. With a €25 million release clause, Garcia is seen as an affordable option for Madrid, who aim to groom him as a future successor to Thibaut Courtois, especially as the latter recovers from injury.
