Sabres center Lukas Rousek will join HV71 of the SHL next season after AHL Rochester’s victory extended his season. The 25-year-old, a sixth-round pick by Buffalo in 2019, played all 72 games this season with Rochester, recording seven goals and 35 assists, though his per-game numbers declined for the second consecutive year. Rousek, who has not played in the NHL this season despite 17 games with the Sabres previously, qualifies for Group Six unrestricted free agency this summer and aims for a prominent role in Sweden to enhance his North American prospects.
