U.S. advances to semis at worlds; Canada loses


Conor Garland scored two power-play goals to lead the United States to a 5-2 victory over Finland, advancing them to the semifinals of the ice hockey world championship. The U.S. rallied from a 2-1 deficit, with additional goals from Zeev Buium, Shane Pinto, and Clayton Keller. In other matches, Denmark upset Canada 2-1, while Sweden defeated the Czech Republic 5-2, setting up semifinals between the U.S. and Sweden, and Switzerland against Denmark.
