Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Jared Jones is set for re-examination following a setback in his recovery from a strained ligament in his right elbow. The 23-year-old had previously been on a throwing program after suffering the injury in mid-March, but the team has now opted to shut him down for six weeks, potentially delaying his return until after the All-Star break. Originally expected to be a key part of the starting rotation alongside 2024 NL Rookie of the Year Paul Skenes, Jones may face Tommy John surgery, risking his availability for all of 2025 and much of 2026.
