Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Luther Burden III, drafted 39th overall in the second round after being overlooked in the first round, expressed his determination to prove the teams that passed on him wrong, stating, “Everybody who passed up on me gotta pay.” Surprised by his selection, Burden joins a talented receiving corps and aims to compete for a role in the Bears’ revamped offense under first-year head coach Ben Johnson, as well as potentially serving as the team’s punt returner. He is also looking forward to working with 2024 first overall pick Caleb Williams, calling it “the perfect fit.”
