The San Jose Sharks have signed defense prospect Mattias Havelid to a three-year entry-level deal, extending his contract through 2027-28. Selected 45th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft, the 21-year-old, son of NHL veteran Niclas Havelid, has shown promise despite a challenging development trajectory, recently excelling in the second-tier HockeyAllsvenskan with 14 points in 18 games. Although he did not rank among the Sharks’ top 15 prospects, the organization remains committed to his growth as he prepares for potential AHL play next season.
