Mikko Rantanen made history by scoring a natural hat trick in the Dallas Stars’ 3-2 victory over the Winnipeg Jets in Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinals, marking his second consecutive game with a hat trick. This achievement makes him the first player in Stanley Cup playoff history with multiple three-goal periods in the same postseason and the fourth in NHL history to do so. Rantanen also set a postseason record with a goal or assist on 12 straight scoring plays, surpassing Mario Lemieux’s 1992 record, solidifying his impact as he leads the playoffs in goals and points.
