Hunter Renfrow, recently signed by the Carolina Panthers, took a hiatus from the NFL due to ulcerative colitis, which caused significant weight loss and frequent hospital visits. Diagnosed during training camp in 2022 while with the Las Vegas Raiders, he struggled with the illness for two seasons before being released in March 2024, reflecting on the emotional toll and feelings of letting his teammates down. After regaining his health, Renfrow expressed excitement about starting fresh with the Panthers and returning to play football.
