NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports the Commanders are signing former Colts K Matt Gay to a one-year deal worth $4.25 million, the highest fully guaranteed amount for a kicker on a one-year deal in NFL history. The Commanders are releasing K Zane Gonzalez to make room for Gay, who had a successful 2024 season with the Colts, converting 31 of 37 field goals and all 33 extra points. Gay, originally drafted by the Buccaneers in 2019, has previously signed significant contracts, including a four-year, $22.5 million deal with the Colts.
