Former Baltimore Orioles player and coach Rich Dauer has passed away at the age of 72, two years after suffering a stroke. Dauer played all 10 seasons with the Orioles, winning a World Series in 1983 and earning a spot in the team’s Hall of Fame. He later transitioned to coaching, notably with the Houston Astros, and survived emergency brain surgery during the team’s 2017 World Series parade.
