The BCB will be launching a maiden Women’s Bangladesh Premier League (WBPL) soon after the men’s competition ends on February 7, consisting of three teams playing six league games followed by a final. BCB director Nazmul Abedeen Fahim stated the board’s intention to advance women’s cricket by introducing a T20 competition, with talks ongoing with BPL franchises for team ownership. The tournament will allow one overseas player per team, with a maximum squad size of 15 players, aiming to enhance domestic players’ opportunities and competitiveness in Bangladesh’s first women’s T20 event.
