Jimmy Butler reportedly told Miami Heat team president Pat Riley that he still wants to be traded and won’t sign an extension, only using his player option for the 2025-26 season to facilitate a trade. The saga began last month when Butler expressed a desire for a change of scenery by the NBA trade deadline, leading to a suspension by the Heat for “conduct detrimental to the team” but now they are open to trade offers. Despite averaging 17.6 points in 22 games, Butler is set to return to the team after a seven-game suspension and is aiming to find joy in playing basketball again.
