The NHL will hold its first outdoor game in Florida next season, with the Florida Panthers hosting the New York Rangers at retractable roof loanDepot Park in Miami on Jan. 2, 2026. This event will mark the Panthers’ debut in the Winter Classic and the first outdoor game in the state of Florida, with the only team yet to participate being the Utah Hockey Club. The decision to feature the Rangers over the Lightning was due to Tampa Bay hosting their own game at Raymond James Stadium on Feb. 1, as part of a month-long celebration of hockey throughout Florida.
