Ovechkin, known as The Great Eight, has been a dominant goal scorer throughout his career and has tallied 35 goals in his last 35 games. With only 25 goals away from breaking Gretzky’s record, Ovechkin’s pursuit is closely followed by the NHL community and could be achieved as early as the 2024-25 season.
