Imran Khwaja has been reappointed as the ICC’s deputy chair, starting his new tenure on December 1, 2024, alongside incoming ICC chair Jay Shah. Khwaja, who has been on the ICC Board since 2008 and has served as deputy chair since 2017, previously acted as interim chair before Greg Barclay’s election in 2020. The ICC has also approved changes to the tenure limits for both the chair and board directors, now allowing a maximum of two terms of three years each, instead of the previous three terms of two years each.
