In mid-February, a comparison between wOBA projections from THE BAT X and Steamer forecasting systems revealed Steamer’s generally higher projections for hitters. Analyzing specific favorites from THE BAT X, results showed accuracy on four out of six players, with notable performances from Mike Trout, Matt Chapman, Shohei Ohtani, Dansby Swanson, Aaron Judge, and Teoscar Hernández. Notably, Steamer only proved closer on seven out of 19 names, with standout performances from Wyatt Langford, Triston Casas, Mark Vientos, Jeff McNeil, Steven Kwan, and Isaac Paredes.
