Rattler, a rookie fifth-round pick out of South Carolina, has yet to play in the NFL as the Saints’ No. 3 quarterback. Despite being inactive in the team’s first five games, there is speculation that Rattler may take over the offense due to his strong arm talent, despite his tendency to play recklessly in college. In the preseason, Rattler showed promise with 52.6 percent completion rate, 202 yards passing, one touchdown, and no interceptions, along with 26 rushing yards and a lost fumble in three appearances.
